Administrators
What Make administrator grants — everything the owner has except ownership — who can grant it, what an administrator still cannot do, and the one-owner rules that protect the account.

An Administrator holds everything the owner holds, with no permission grid to consult: billing, payroll, the Activity Log, every setting, every document, and the power to change anyone else's access. It exists for a business partner or a bookkeeper who must see the plan and the card. It is not a level for staff — that is Manager.
The checkbox on the form says it plainly: “This allows them access to everything within the account — including billing, reports, client list editing, and all user permissions.”
Overview
On New User and in the access editor, Make administrator is a checkbox above the level cards. Tick it and the cards and the grid disappear — the tier is the whole answer, so there is nothing to dial. On Manage Team an administrator shows as Administrator in the Role column, and the seat panel counts them under Administrators. An administrator always uses a seat.
How to make an administrator
- Open Manage Team. You must be the owner: Make administrator is offered only to somebody who may hand out the Administrator level, and that is the owner alone.
- In the person's Role dropdown pick Administrator — or pick Custom…, tick Make administrator and press Save.
- To take it back, pick any other level from the same dropdown. Their grid is replaced by that level's; they keep their login.
When inviting, the same checkbox sits under Permissions on New User. A pending Administrator invitation shows its level beside the Invited badge, so it can be cancelled before it is accepted.
What an administrator gets
- Every row in the menu and every Settings row, including Account & Billing, Payments, Meta Ads, Refer & Earn, Data Migration, Activity Log, Time Off Policies and Notifications.
- Billing: change the plan, the card and the subscription. Payroll: run pay runs and edit deductions and payslip components.
- Team: invite anyone below them (Crew, Estimator, Dispatcher, Manager), change those people's level, and activate or deactivate them.
- The permission grid does not apply to them — every dial reads as its top rung and every switch as on.
What stays with the owner
- Ownership itself. The owner is the account that registered the company; FieldQuo has no control to transfer it, and no one — administrators included — can re-grade or deactivate an owner from the roster.
- Making another administrator. Everyone can only hand out access strictly below their own, so an administrator can grant Manager and below, never Administrator.
- Editing another administrator: same rank, no dropdown.
- The trial countdown in the sidebar is shown to the owner alone, though an administrator can open Account & Billing and act on it.
The last active owner or administrator cannot be deactivated, and the last owner cannot be demoted. The screen refuses with “That's the last active owner or admin. Someone has to be able to manage the account — promote or reactivate somebody first.”
Domande frequenti
Should my office manager be an administrator?
Usually not. Manager gives them the whole day-to-day without your billing and everyone's pay. Reserve Administrator for a partner or a bookkeeper.
I am an administrator and I can't make my colleague one. Why?
Only the owner can. An administrator hands out Manager and below.
Can an administrator lock the owner out?
No. The owner's row is read-only for everyone, and the last owner can never be deactivated.
