Changing your availability

Propose new hours from a date of your choosing, copy your current week to start, add several ranges a day, and see what your manager approved and when it takes effect.

Your availability is the week the rota is built inside: a shift outside it is refused unless your manager overrides it, and if your role can quote, clients can book you inside it too — one set of hours, read by both. Changing it is a request with an effective date, so this week's rota stays as published and the new week begins when you said.

Overview

Open More → My availability. The top card is your current week, one row per day with its ranges — or Unavailable. Under it, Request new availability; under that, Your requests with their state, and for a manager, the requests waiting with a day-by-day diff.

There is one availability per person. A crew member's heading reads *Hours you can work*; somebody who can quote reads *Hours you can work and be booked for appointments*, with a link to their booking page. Same rows, same request — the label is honest about what the rows do.

How to request new hours

  1. Tap Request new availability. The form opens with your current week already filled in (Copy from current brings it back if you clear it).
  2. Set My availability takes effect on — the date the new week starts. Your current hours stay until then.
  3. For each day under Days and times, tap + to add a from–to range; add a second for a split day. All day and Unavailable are one tap each.
  4. Optionally type Desired hours per week and a note, then tap Submit at the bottom.
  5. The request shows as Waiting. You can Withdraw it until it is decided.

What happens next

  • Approved with a past or today's date — applied at once; your week changes now.
  • Approved with a future date — the request reads *approved, applies on …* and the change lands on that morning, not before.
  • Declined — your current week stands; the manager's note, if any, is on the request.
  • Company setting off — *Availability needs approval* is on by default; turned off, the request is approved on arrival and still waits for its date. Settings → Availability keeps writing directly, as before.

A range must start before it ends, two ranges on one day may not overlap, and a request with no hours at all is refused — a week you are never available is a resignation typed into the wrong form.

For managers

Under Needs review on your Home, the Requests panel on the scheduler, and My availability itself, each waiting request shows the person, the effective date, the hours per week it adds up to, and a table of the days that change: what they have now, what they asked for. Approve or Decline; you cannot approve your own.

Häufige Fragen

Does this change my booking hours too?

If your role can quote, yes — the booking calendar reads the same rows. If it cannot, clients were never able to book you and still cannot.

Can I have two requests waiting?

No. Withdraw the first or wait for its answer. Two approved requests for the same person are applied in date order and the later one stands.

What about working hours in Settings → Availability?

That screen also holds your usual pattern (Working hours), which the rota only warns about. The request here changes the availability half — the one that refuses a shift.
